Competitive STEM Program
Competitive STEM is an accelerated enrichment program in STEM targeted at gifted/high-achieving students in grades 1–12+. The topics we covered are much broader and deeper than those found in a typical STEM curriculum. Besides developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills in STEM, the program provides students with a solid understanding of STEM concepts and exposes them to a variety of challenging STEM problems. Moreover, we teach students how to express their ideas and justify their steps in their writings.
This is a very advanced and challenging program, much more so than IB Math, Saxon Math, and Singapore Math. Most contestants of the USA Mathematical Olympiad (around 500 each year) studied many of the books we use in this program.
Math Olympiad Program
Math Olympiad is an intensive olympiad training program targeted at gifted/high-achieving 4th-12th graders who are interested in preparing for major math competitions, such as CML, Math Kangaroo, MOEMS, MATHCOUNTS, NYCIML, AMC 8/10/12, AIME, ARML, and USAMTS.
Most contestants of the USA Mathematical Olympiad (around 500 each year) studied many of the books we use in this program.
Test Prep Program
Test Prep is an intensive test prep program for SHSAT Math, SAT Math, and AP Calculus AB & BC Exams. We review all the topics required for each test. And, rather than presenting students merely facts and formulas, we focus on explaining the concepts, methods, approaches, and big ideas. We go over one or more efficient ways to solve each problem, explain test taking and problem-solving strategies, and how to discipline yourself to maximize your score on each test. In addition, we also offer short courses: NY Statewide Math and Hunter Math Prep.
Private & Group Tutoring
We offer customized private tutoring for individuals and groups in math and test prep.
We thank our lucky stars that we found Susanna as our math tutor. She has tutored both our 10 year old and 8 year old sons (separately) for the last two years, and the results are stunning. Thanks to her, both children are the top math students in their class (by a long shot) and more importantly, have developed a real passion for math. Susanna is an extraordinary teacher. Teaching math is very difficult, but Susanna is able to communicate complex concepts in a clear and understandable way. This is rare in the world of math. Beast Academy (the program they follow) is not easy and very sophisticated. But Susanna has an extraordinary talent for explaining complicated math concepts in a clear, digestible way that children can understand. Combine that with her endless patience and she is a rare find. Both of our children have a fluency in math concepts that is rarely seen in kids who are even much older. It is a joy to walk into our teacher's school conferences and hear the superlatives describing our children's math skills. That is solely due to Susanna and Computer Wisdom....

Fundamentals 3, 4 & 5, 2020-2021
William Chau and Computing Wisdom exemplify the ideal in mathematical and logical instruction. With their incredibly rigorous, deep and penetrating approach to math, our son was able to conquer an extremely sophisticated Algebra class in one summer and is now in the process of doing the same with Geometry. More importantly, along the way, he has become an infinitely more conscientious student and worker. Most importantly, he has become a truly analytical thinker. While he has gained wonderful mathematical skills and views himself with confidence as a math scholar, even more remarkable is the fact that our son has learned how to attack problems of all sorts, construct a strategy to solve them and then present the evidence of their solution in unassailable fashion. He owes that almost completely to William Chau and Computing Wisdom.

Geometry, Algebra, 2020-2021
William has made a tremendous difference in my son's life! William uses a fantastic curriculum that challenges kids and makes them love math at the same time. My son is very passionate about mathematics and William was the ONLY person we were able to find in NYC who was willing to find the appropriate approach for an 7 year old. We have taken 3 years worth of courses so far. William focuses on skills and teaches problem solving methods so that kids can succeed in the future. It's not just about getting the right answer. After 3 years, my son has improved dramatically! Thanks to William and his individualized approach, my son will be taking pre-Calculus in 5th Grade! He has also placed nationally for the past 3 years in the Kangaroo Math Competition.
